The Ronald Brown Space to Grow project was designed to enhance urban space on the Southside of Chicago, with a focus on sustainability and community engagement. Key elements of the project include significant rainwater retention through rain gardens and detention systems, as well as community-focused features such as a new playground, a natural outdoor classroom, and an artificial turf sports field for soccer and football. This initiative aims to improve stormwater management, provide educational and recreational opportunities, and create vibrant, lasting spaces for local residents.
Be sure to check out this site in the spring when the parking lot and landscaping is complete!
