
Project Accountant
ROLE
Coordinate with clients, Project Managers and vendors to produce accurate and timely draw packages and cost transactions. Analyze job cost and manage accounting related project risk.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with project team to set-up projects in all systems per owner and All-Bry requirements
- Prepare Invoices for all assigned projects on a monthly, interim, and milestone basis
- Enter all financial paperwork into the accounting system to ensure timely and accurate job cost information. This includes owner and subcontractor change orders, owner billings, budget transfers, subcontractor pay requirements, certified payroll and accounts payable invoices, etc.
- Monitor and collect aged receivables
- Responsible for project cost/schedule monitoring, which includes monitoring of actual vs. financial percent completes, provide suggestions for proactive cost control improvements, monitor employee hours charged to projects on a weekly basis and monitor sub-consultant/subcontractor invoices/payments against the contract terms
- Understand the nature of the project cost systems and the information processed. Bring issues to the attention of the owner(s) and Controller for assistance and further evaluation
- Provide information to the appropriate staff regarding project status
- Manage processes for projects with special requirements such as certified payroll, special reporting, etc.
- Respond to client and internal staff inquiries regarding billing, invoices, expense reports and other financial matters
- Process project related payables
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Maintain vendor and billing files
- Filing, copying and other duties assigned
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to handle multiple projects and changing priorities, working in a cooperative team environment, which includes cross-training with co-workers
- Ability to coordinate with many internal and external parties
- Ability to meet cut-off dates for accounting cycle and billing deadlines
- Be able to resolve issues
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Construction software experience
- 2+ years Construction accounting experience, including preparation of G702/G703, Sworn Statement, and Lien Waivers
- College a plus but not required
